Ace Combat 5 REVIEW and X-PLANE 8.0
This game and the engine that ‘powers it’ I must say is one of games that pushs the ps2 way beyond its previously held convictions. The engine wounderful detail and graphics. The biggest problem and addition is the wingman comands (yes, the game allows you to command 4 other planes/piolts) they are that great (the comands that is) all the player get to do with effictness is order your piolts to use SP weapons or not. I found that is the same somwhat storyline (comaring it with Ace Combat 4) just a different locations and different sucumstances. I did fell this was more beliveable than Ace Combat 4. Radio Chatter during gameplay and FMV’s really tie into the storyline
RATING: 9 out of 10
“the best fight combat game on the consoles”-me (comp)
X-PLane 8.0
X-Plane is the best non-combat flight simulator, the only problem with it is it’s world maker, plane maker, and airfoil maker are complicated, but nothing else is wrong with. but BUY A JOYSTICK, YOKESTICKor something like it; I have one but I could imagin having fun with the application without.
Christmas! (2005)
I thought it was due time for another post so I am telling you what to expect as far as reviews:
Battlefield 1942
X-Plane 8
Ace Combat 5
(socom 2: exchanging for different present): Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One
the matrix: the path of neo
The Matrix: The Path of Neo
I don’t usually buy new games at their top price, but I bought The Path of Neo because I thought it was worthy of it, and it was. This game is so much better than the 2003 spin-off Enter The Matrix (which I also bought at its top price). Unfortunatly I haven’t finshed it (I’m 86% to 92% done) I still have thing pathtic level to beat(more on this in closing comments).
First Impressions:
At the start when you are trying to flee from agents at the start, instead of just running from cubicle before going out an outside window. You’ll have to avoid agents and police officers next to construction zones and run down several flights of stairs before escaping. This is a cool kind of ‘expanded storytelling.’
The dry and uninspired training six missions at the first are what makes the remaining two-thirds of the game so fun. After you make it through the six training mission things really begins to become a true ‘matrix experience’
Combat Styeam:
For the first hour or so, the combat sytyeam may seam clucky but you’ll lean it and with upgrades, (some you get and some after you complete a mission (it called levels in the game) you get one ‘token’ and you have to chose one upgrade that you can purchase, the amounts of is awe-inspiring espicially since all you have is the fire, strike, special attack, and jump buttons.
Storyline:
This is the games biggest flaws, The way the cutscenes of all three Matrix films cut toghter don’t make anysense. I’ve heard from some people that didn’t see the Matrix movies and they say its hard for them to follow whats going on, and if you haven’t seen any of the films skip the cutsenes.
Closing Comments:
Fans of The Matrix will probably purchase the Path of Neo at at full price (like I did) and it’s easy to see why. It has fun and flexible combat engine, a long 13-16 hour adventure (I’m guessing as I said before I am about 85% to 92% done) as I meantion at the start there is this escher enspired level that dosn’t add to the gameplay or stoyline, and all the most unforgetable parts of the Matrix. But I with the production team cramped in too much ‘gameplay types, graphical effects, and scenes from the movie as possible’ then it could handle rather than focusing on things that that really work like kicking Agent’s smith’s smirking digital a*s.

mercenaries playground of destruction
thought this was a cool game .
Graphics: they are great except it has too much fog everywhere.
Gameplay: when you drive around there is no music like GTA (I havn’t played it but some people say there is) anyway and you have four faction and all of them have contract and the only way to get the Jacks, Queens, and Kings is accept mission with them. I believe and and in order to retrive info on the deck of 52 (people who you capture to gain money in the games) and all of the factions have contracts that have you betray another faction, but you need all to get some of the Jack,Queens, and Kings, unless you want to go around every single place where there are NK troops and wait to see if the is a number card. So I found out that after every ace mission I had to go to that faction and pay them anywhere from 25,000 to 250,000 or lose out on intel, but on each contract you gain anywhere from 6,000 to 250,000 so money really isn’t an problem, it just annoys me.Those are the really only defects of the games
EDIT: my new rating system is in place

day I bought mercenaries
For about five weeks I have been asking my Mother for a game and finally when she and my brother went to Walmart I was droped off by the near by store of Hastings and I had two games that I wanted Star Wars Battlefront and the game that I got, mercinaries and I got home and started playing and the intro looked so unrealistic, but fun to watch none the less, and I’ll stop there
athena sword
I know it is way beyond my 2 week promise but I am writing a review now
OVERVIEW: “In 2007, remnants of the terrorist group that you busted up in Raven Shield resurface and send you on another international romp to make the world safe for democracy.” The missions ‘this time’ center around the Meditrranean, their are cool maps raning from an art museum (which is the first mission) to the Greek marketplace (the last).
Gun ADD-ONS: There are seven new firearms (for a grand total of 64). None of them really ‘stole the spotlight’. The most interesting one is probably the new 93R 9mm pistol, which can fire in three round bursts. Add a silencer or extended clip on it and ‘let the good times roll.’
LOCATION: one of the best things about this expansion pack is the new maps. Two thumbs up for the new maps.
Multiplayer: although I can’t play multiplayer due to a problem that hasn’t been resolved IMG said “Of the new multiplayer modes, only one sparked my interest (the others are more or less just variations of old game types). Capture the Enemy, however, is a departure from Rainbow Six’s typically unforgiving multiplayer games. In this unique mode when you would normally kill someone on the opposing team, instead of dying, they put their weapon away and put their hands up to signal their surrender. They will stay like this for a few seconds to allow their captor the chance to move up and cuff ‘em. If no one restrains them they will shortly snap out of their state of surrender and resume the fight. If through cruel fate you happen to get cuffed, all is not lost. Someone on your team can take the time to free you and enable the whole mess to start over again. To win, you have to cuff the entire opposing team. It’s not perfect, but it can be a lot of fun, albeit a bit chaotic. I expect that this will quickly become the most common game type on GameRanger.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, for some reason you still can’t select what type of body armor to use. (If you have Rogue Spear, try outfitting everyone with heavy armor and pistols with hollow point ammo. Winner is whoever gets the most hits, and the least kills.)”

review of demos from OPM
I got the January issue of OPM and aside from learning that although the new sonic game has guns, its not that great, I played the demo of 24, battlefield 2: modern combat, and socom 3.
24- the first ‘mission’ was somewhat cool although very, very, very easy to finish. The targeting system first looked somewhat like “MI: Operation Surma” (which was terrible) but I found out it also had and “auto aim” syteam somewhat simmular to “everything or nothing” which was cool. The next ‘mission’ is a ‘get this bad guy to talk’ is hard the first time, and also unreastic. The next is ‘locate the bad guys for Jack’ which is very easy to finsh and takes only 1 min and 30 seconds. The next is Jack being pursude by bad guys after he left a enemy base with vital info. This is a preaty basic ‘on the rail’ car chase, but every once in a while it switch to a two or three 24 style camera move which looks cool on the TV show but does work so well while your the one driving the car.
based on the demo this is one that I wouldn’t suggest. ‘movie to video games and T.V to video game adaptation are usually the worst video games you will see’ (two exceptions to that, that I know of, are King Kong which I haven’t played but OPM said it was good and The Path of Neo which I have played and excepted the occasional camera angle mishap its a great game)
